Hey gang welcome to the last weekly wrap of 2017, with the Christmas break coming up the weekly wrap will take a hiatus next week before returning in 2018.
Another great weekend of Speedway Sedan racing in Western Australia just gone with myself calling the action at Quit Collie Speedway with Jason Crowe.
All the classes on the night didn’t disappoint with heat four of the Production Sedans the highlight.
The big news just in is that American Joe Godsey will race at the Perth Motorplex on Boxing Day in the next round of the XLI Pro Dirt Late Model Series. A field of nearly thirty cars entered means only one thing, be at the Motorplex this coming Tuesday!

Kingy All Class at Collie
Anthony King bounced back from a DNF in his first heat to claim the feature race win in the opening round of the 2017/2018 GWN7 WA Modified Sedan Series at Quit Collie Speedway on Saturday Night. Calon Ball enjoyed a consistent night and leads the series point score after the first round with Adam Houston rounding out the podium.
The Modified Sedans are back in action in the new year at Attwell Park Speedway in Albany on Saturday 20th January 2018.
Production Sedans put on some great racing with the fourth heat a classic battle between Barry Rose, Kane McDiarmid and Kyle Sayer. Kyle Sayer eventually went on to win a dramatic Production Sedan feature race with the divisions State Title at the venue in late January sure to be a pearler.
Jamie Oldfield dominated the Street Stock competition in the Luke Novel owned Commodore while Nathan Carter and Matthew Thomson won their respective Junior Sedan divisions.
Parkesy Continues to Win
Kalgoorlie’s Dylan Parkes made the long trip to Geraldton for the third round of the Junior Sedan Racing Association country series worthwhile by winning the feature race. Parkes defeated Blake Webb and Luke Malcolm with Kayne Dellar also of Kalgoorlie winning the New Stars. Great fields of Junior Sedans were on hand with the local club currently enjoying strong fields of the division. Glenn Marsden defeated Peter Katona and Scott Bennett in the Production Sedan Feature Race with the next show at the Midwest venue the annual Production Sedan Sizzle to be held on Saturday 6th January 2018.
David Fall defeated a big Street Stock field in Manjimup on Friday Night with Damien Amato winning the following Night at the Augusta Margaret River Speedway. Matthew Thomson won the Junior Sedan feature race at Manjimup with the sedans playing support at the two venues to the WA vs USA Speedcar Challenge.
Beau Oldfield and Blake Iwanow were successful in the two Junior Sedan main events at Moora Speedway on Saturday Night. Brody Day, Richard Hicks and Michael Martin were all successful at the Makit Hardware Narrogin Speedway.
Nothing happening across the weekend leading into Christmas but the Late Models hit the high banks of the Perth Motorplex on Boxing Day (Tuesday) with a big field entered. Kye Blight and Jamie Oldfield will make their first appearances of the season with Gary Higgs and Nuno Mendes debuting in the division.
The Esperance Speedway Association has their second meeting of the season on Saturday 30th December with Production Sedans also running that night at the Quit Bunbury Speedway.
