With Allan Smallwood Jr
Hey Folks back for another installment of Smalle’s Weekly Wrap, I had the pleasure of calling the big sedan show at Quit Collie Speedway last Saturday Night. A beautiful evening weather wise and some even better racing made for a great night at the skids. Looking forward to the next few shows at the Collie venue with the GWN7 Modifieds, USA Late Model Invasion Tour and the SSWA Production Sedan State Title all on menu there this season.
I’m to Esperance this Saturday to call the Street Stock 20/20 Challenge, a great field entered and I’m sure the local club will roll the welcome mat out for all the visitors like they always do down there.
Baz Blitzes Them
Barry Rose won the Collie Production Sedan Championships for the fourth time in his racing career on Saturday Night, with a dominate performance going through the event undefeated. Rose was never seriously challenged in the A Main with his nearest rivals Kyle Sayer and current WA Champion Drew Ogle both retiring within sight of the finish. Veteran Wayne Leviston had a great night finishing runner up ahead of one of the all time greats of Speedway Sedan racing in Western Australia Richard Nelson.
Paul Briggs won a entertaining Street Stock feature race ahead of young guns Luke Fraser and Cody Avins. Modified Sedans and Junior Sedans were light on numbers but had a solid nights racing with Rod Musarra and Nathan Carter winning the two features.
Pavlovich Wins Again
Chris Pavlovich won his second feature race for the 2017/2018 WA Super Sedan Series on Saturday Night at Quit Bunbury Speedway. Pavlovich found a way past Gary Higgs who won round two a few weeks ago at Mount Barker late in the feature race after lap traffic came into play.
A great field of Super Sedans was on hand for the event with the division having a fairly strong start to the season
The Super Sedans will now have December off before contesting their State Title at Attwell Park Speedway in Albany on the 6th January 2018.
Parkes Wins at Home
Dylan Parkes has won for the second time at his home track in Junior Sedan competition on Saturday Night. The Kalgoorlie based peddler this time won the second round of the 2017/2018 JSRA Country Series ahead of the very fast Bryden Southwell and Blake Webb. The New Stars feature race was taken out by another local Kayne Dellar with south west duo Brandon Buzsan and Jhy Pack rounding out the podium. The third round of the JSRA Country Series will be held on Saturday 16th December at Geraldton City Speedway.
Some good shows around the state this weekend with the main highlight being the Street Stock 20/20 Challenge with a high quality line up. The meeting is also the first for the season for the Esperance Speedway Associaton with the local club doing alot of improvements to their venue in the off season.
Mount Barker will host their annual Production Sedan Feature this Saturday afternoon with good fields of sedans entered. Geraldton City Speedway will once again host solid local fields of Junior Sedans and Production Sedans with Makit Hardware Narrogin Speedway also in action.
Manjimup Speedway will have Junior Sedans supporting the WA 360 Sprintcar Title.
