In some big news for the upcoming USA Invasion Tour for 2019/20, the LMRWA are tonight proud to reveal that teenage sensation Hayden Ross will be heading down under to compete in the Series!
Ross, a 17 year old from Muskogee, Oklahoma surprised the Late Model fraternity a couple of years ago when aged just 15 years old, he won the feature event at Tri-State Speedway in what was only his second Late Model race.
He has motorsport in his blood, with his father Brady Ross racing motorcycles with success and great uncle Tommy a member of the Oklahoma Racing Hall of Fame.
Talking to Mike Kays in an interview (https://www.muskogeephoenix.com/sports/out-to-show-em-cash-money-late-model-circuit-has/article_8752c302-b4d9-11e9-8417-1fe8c8c77f7b.html, retrieved 16th October) he said
“My dad originally got me into go-karts when I was young. I got good at it and he decided soon after to buy me a bigger car to see how I’d do,”
Ross regularly runs in the Cash Money Super Dirt Series, a series that focuses on running in Missouri, Arkansas and his home state of Oklahoma and has been improving each time he hits the track. He came home 8th back in June, 11th in August and then grabbed a third place finish on the 4th of October, finishing twentieth overall with one top three finish.
The team recently loaded their XR1 car and equipment into a sea container bound for Perth, which is due to arrive with plenty of time to get it all ready for the four nights of the USA Invasion Tour, which will include the two night Australian Late Model Championship at the Perth Motorplex on Wednesday the 8th and Saturday the 11th of January 2020, followed by two nights at Albany Speedway the following Saturday and Sunday, something Hayden is very excited about, saying “Ï am pumped and can’t wait to get down there!”
Hayden may be the youngest member of Team USA, but he is certainly going to put on a show for the fans here in Western Australia! Stay tuned as we chat more to Hayden as his tour draws closer!
